In response to numerous requests and to ensure maximum participation from our alumni community, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has officially extended the registration deadline for the 2026 Inter-house Competition.

The new deadline to register is now March 16th, 2026.

This extension provides an additional time for alumni to sign up, connect with their houses, and prepare for the games. We want to see as many faces as possible, from recent graduates to our esteemed senior alumni.

To ensure a well-organized and memorable Inter-house Competition, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has introduced a registration fee of ₦100,000 per house.

This fee is essential for covering various logistical and operational costs, including:

• Rental of sports equipment and facilities.
• Medals, trophies, and awards.
• Venue setup and branding.
• First aid and medical services.

Payment and Coordination

House Captains are requested to coordinate the collection of funds from their members and make a single payment on behalf of their house. Further details regarding the payment procedure will be communicated directly to the House Captains.

How to Register

1. Navigate to the Register page using the menu.
2. Fill out the form with your Full Name, Graduation Year, Email Address, and Phone Number.
3. Select your House from the dropdown menu.
4. Click the Register button.
5. Wait for the success message which will display your unique Athlete ID.
6. Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for a confirmation email containing your Athlete ID and a unique QR Code required for accreditation at the venue.

The association held its January monthly meeting on the 26th, hosted by Liberty House at the Alpha Village Pot, near Railway bus stop.

The meeting was well-attended, with notable figures such as Mr. Aniekan Akpan, the Immediate Past Chairman of the association, gracing the occasion. The gathering was marked by significant updates regarding alumni sports activities. Mr. Ifeanyi Egbe (aka Xboy), the Vice Chairman of the USOSA Sports Festival Local Organizing Committee (LOC), was in attendance to brief the house on the upcoming USOSA games scheduled for April.

In preparation for our own chapter's events, Sct Elebe Obinna Vitalis, the LOC Chairman for the FGCEOSA Enugu Chapter Inter-house games, officially introduced the slate of games for the competition, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.

Adding to the excitement, the "Headboy" for the inter-house games, Puka, was present to rally the members. He charged all houses to get ready for the showdown and announced that he would be joining the various house groups to assist in organizing their teams alongside the respective House Captains.

The meeting also welcomed Dr. Tony of the 1985 set, who took a moment to reflect on the "old school days" and made a commitment to remain active in the association's affairs.

On January 22nd, in a significant step towards the successful hosting of the 2026 FGCE Alumni Inter-house Competition, the Chapter Chairman, Dr. Ikenna Emedike, paid a strategic visit to the Federal Government College Enugu Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

The meeting, held at the school premises, focused on securing the school's sports complex as the official venue for the highly anticipated alumni sports meet scheduled for February 28th - March 1st, 2026.

Dr. Emedike emphasized the importance of bringing the alumni back to their alma mater, noting that using the school grounds would not only evoke nostalgia but also inspire current students. "Coming back home to compete where we once played as students is the spirit of this event," he stated.

The PTA executives welcomed the initiative, pledging their full support to ensure the facilities are in top shape for the event. Discussions also touched on security arrangements and logistics to ensure a seamless experience for all visiting alumni and guests.

This successful engagement marks a major milestone in the planning process, confirming that the games will indeed return to the turf where it all began.

On January 22nd, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) officially confirmed Escalade Arena, located in Independence Layout, Enugu, as the host venue for the opening day of the event.

The venue was selected for its excellent facilities and capacity to host multiple indoor and outdoor games simultaneously.

The arena features dedicated spaces for Soccer, Table Tennis, Snooker, Chess, Scrabble, Ludo, and even a PlayStation 5 gaming section, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for all attendees on the opening day.

Football games on PlayStation 5 have been officially added to the list of competitive events for the 2026 Inter-house Competition.

This addition acknowledges the growing popularity of e-sports and provides an opportunity for alumni to showcase their virtual football skills on the big screen.

Participants can look forward to a high-energy tournament structure, with the finals likely to be held at the Escalade Arena alongside other indoor games.
